GLUE BOOK

At last I've got around to doing something constructive following the Christmas/New Year break. Admittedly I was away until 10th January, but that is no excuse.... and I HAVE been knitting (quite a lot in fact!), so I've not exactly been idle. However, I have now started a little (6 x 6 inch) glue book, using Khadi* paper, together with some of my old family photos. A glue book is basically a collaged book but I have put a little slant on it by brushing each page with beeswax which, although a nightmare to photograph, gives more of a vintage look to the finished page.

The first page shows my great aunt Queenie when she was 16 (in 1918) and the next two pages are of my mum as a baby, young child and at 17 years old.

*Khadi paper is handmade paper from India, made from recycled cotton rag.

Your glue book is great. Love the vintage photos of your family. One of my favorite things to use. The beeswax really makes it standout. Love it.

Hello Jan, lovely to see you again. Your glue book is wonderful - as are your old photographs. I've never heard of that paper before, it sounds interesting and looks as if it takes the beeswax well.

Take care xx
