MAMMA SWAP - My Favourite Things (Flowers)

'My Favourite Things' is the subject for this week's MAMMA swap - which leaves the door open for all sorts of ideas. Here I used alcohol inks (on card sent to me by Viv -thank you!), paper napkins, the main image and stamps.

FOR MAUREEN

It's Maureen's birthday today (Happy birthday to yoooooooooohooooooooooo!) I made this fabric art quilt for her, using stamps, photos transferred to fabric and general distressing techniques. When I came to frame it, I realised that I hadn't taken into account using a standard size piece of fabric so my choice of frame was limited unfortunately. Hope she likes it though!

ART CREATIONS FRIDAY

The challenge this week at Art Creations Friday was to use this beautiful image. I mounted it on a silk fabric background and then stitched and embellished. I shall use it in a fabric/paper journal that I am making.

'FLOWER GIRL' - no sew fabric doll for MAD MAMMA swap

The challenge for this month's MAD (make a doll/MAMMAS art dolls) swap was to make a 'no sew' fabric doll. I made a paper clay face; used an armature of wadding and then wrapped the doll with fabric, lace and ribbon.

FABRIC CHARMS for GAS MAMMA swap

Two little fabric and bead charms for this swap. The first time we've all had a go at this - a bit fiddly but enjoyable and at least some sort of result at the end! Created with felt, coloured scrim, angelina fibres, fusible web, wire and beads.

MAMMA Challenge

In the MAMMA challenge this week, we are asked to include three items - metal, fabric and a triangle. We are also asked to describe the background that we use.I created the background using petroleum jelly and acrylic paint, which I heated so that the jelly ran, wiped it off, and added a further diluted layer of acrylic paint. I then stamped the text. I transferred the image onto fabric and combined the use of metal and the triangle by making a triangle from metal foil and embossing it.
